About Jag Kitchens
The Jag Kitchens Story
Malcolm and Lesley McLagan established Jag Kitchens in Auckland in 2004. Jag Kitchens is proud to be local and services Howick, Bucklands Beach, Pakuranga, Dannemora and beyond to East, Central and South Auckland with a manufacturing facility in East Tamaki and a 7 day a week retail showroom located in the Botany Town Centre.
Jag Kitchens employs a team of six experienced kitchen designers all of whom have had extensive industry experience. We regard our staff as our most important asset and have a very low staff turnover. Our original designers employed in 2004 are still with us, having each installed hundreds of kitchens.
The company uses state of the art Computer Aided Design (CAD) software that enables clients to see exactly what their kitchen will look like in 3D. This software ultimately feeds information to sophisticated production machinery ensuring accuracy and competitive pricing.
Jag Kitchens was established to fill a gap between low cost (and often low quality) modular kitchens and those hand built, labour intensive kitchens that were beyond the reach of many people.
By embracing new technology Jag Kitchens is able to design and build custom sized, high quality kitchens at what our customers tell us are very sensible prices.
We made a considered decision from the beginning to never compromise on quality just to meet prices at the bottom of the market. For that reason we will never be as cheap as a company using chip board cabinets and Chinese hardware. That’s because our kitchens are manufactured from High Moisture Resistant Board and use hinges, drawer runners and pull-out mechanisms sourced from top quality European suppliers including Blum, Hafele and Hettich.
Working with Jag Kitchens was so easy. Despite everything being finished just a week before our son was born I never felt stressed and the end result is a kitchen that works wonderfully well for us.
Sean and Mandy - Bucklands Beach
Throughout the job, which came together in an amazingly short time, the standard of service and input has been amazing. In fact I was so inspired by the outcome, it prompted me to renovate my bathroom and laundry too.
David - Glen Innes
My new kitchen is fantastic, but more than that I really appreciate the level of service I have received throughout the process. It was the attention to detail and that 'little bit extra' that has set you apart from the rest.

Getting involved in the community
Jag Kitchens is a proud supporter of Garden to Table, a very worthy organisation that teaches children in low decile schools the health benefits of growing, preparing and eating fresh vegetables.
By influencing our industry contacts and supplying our kitchens and installation labour below cost we were able to install a comprehensive kitchen facility into the East Tamaki Primary School located in Otara.
To see the children’s pride and delight in growing their own vegetables and having the hands on experience of cooking and eating them was certainly worth our investment.
These children are taking this healthy eating experience home to their families and helping influence a swing away from convenient junk food. Visit the Garden to Table Website
The McLagans share their own renovation story
Our Homes TODAY magazine featured a four-part series documenting how Malcolm and Lesley transformed a dilapidated 50 year-old bungalow into a contemporary family home using their own design skills, products and company team members. Click here to read the articles...
